We have all at one point in time met someone we extremely like and would love to start conversations with.
But once--in-a-while we are faced with the problem of 'how to get things going'
Well, so after going through a similar situation myself, which was so strange on my side, judging from how outgoing i usually am. So i actually did a little research and came out with these point. Mind you, these are just conversation starters. Keeping the conversation going is something i will discuss in subsequent posts.
We all agree that a good conversation can open up a lot of people and help us to get to know the other party more. Infact, the progress of a friendship/relationship hugely depends on how interesting the first conversation was.
You don't want to be too cheesy, so therefore i have kept these questions more open and depending on how you go about it, you can actually pick up things from here for a lasting conversation.
1. WHERE DID YOU GROW UP
Yeah, it might sound crazy but this question can bring out a lot about the person you are hoping to know more of. This can also lead to a long conversation, especially when memories of childhood are brought to play.
2. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FOOD
Food is obviously a part of our daily lives and its that thing we have a daily craving for. Having a discussion about your favorite food can be very interesting, especially if the other party has a wide variety of taste. You can even offer to cook for the person - if you know how to cook.
3. IF YOU COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD THAT BE?
We all have that one place in the world we would love to visit or stay, and seeking the answer to this sort of information can also be a good conversation starter. It could create curiosity if one party doesn't know about the place in question and that curiosity can open up a series of questions and only God knows where this conversation could lead.
4 4. CRAZIEST THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE??
S My french teacher in sixth grade used to tell me there is 5% madness in everyone - i don't know how true that is though, but i do believe everyone has done or tried to do something really crazy in their lifetime. This question though isn't intended to change your perception about the other person.
5 5. WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH A MILLION DOLLARS
I I am yet to meet a person who doesn't like money - not in a greedy way. But enquiring to know what a person would do with that that huge amount of money is a fun way to start a conversation
