Born Gabriel Ohene Kwasi Addai to Mr. George Kwabena Addai
and Veronica Aikins, Spooky is the hope of greatness to the next generation of
superstars.
He was barely 4 when he begun singing in church and was always at choir rehearsals because both parents were there in different capacities, his father was the choir director and his mom was the alto part leader.
He graduated Woodbridge International School where he was awarded the second best student in 2010. He developed his passion for writing into an obsession with literature, writing and reading everything he could find. He wrote short stories, poems and music on some occasions.
SpOOky was born from a Mijos character, the definition of SpOOky was fitting the character he wanted.
The first time he held the mic, he decided to spit a few bars to the Illuminati beat by Sark. Building confidence after being signed by AtmBtZ into the WMTR crew, he begun pushing himself to be versatile by trying different genres which he soon became good at.
He is a master with words and his music is usually characterized by word manipulations, puns, wordplay and lots of metaphors.
His first official song was Bi3nk3 Me(Come Closer) which was an azonto love song dedicated to his producer and his producer's wife.
This song made the waves for its creativity and well structured content together with the humour element.
Gyptian's Hold Yuh ridim had caught on with Nicki Minaj and a host of other artistes getting in on the fun. Crazy Love was his version, it was a true life account of his first love and the intricacies of their relationship which was not to be. He sang and rapped on this tune as he gave his fans a taste of his two edged sword.
SpOOky is very appreciative, and as he kept producing good music his name begun to spread with people liking his music and style. He learnt of one of his fans who had openly declared how much he liked his music and what impact SpOOky's music had positively had on him. Larry Hoover was his third single and it was dedicated to his fans especially Larry whose name became the title eventually.
In a system where good collaborations yield awesome results, The artistes on the WMTR label did their version of Kanye West's Stronger which was adjudged the cover of the year. SpOOky was partnered by Master Emcees like Roki Marvel, mdK and the best of male vocalists in GibiChris and Mau'miller on the Stronger song.
His current hit single No SiZe is making waves over the country. His unique style and creativity makes his music worth the listen.
