Either You Release Carter V or We Meet In Court - Lil Wayne Claims As He Plans To Sue CMR $51M

Lil Wayne has filed a lawsuit against Cash Money Records, suing the record label for a whopping $51 million dollars.TMZ has obtained the lawsuit, in which Weezy says Cash Money CEO Birdman and the label violated his deal and owes him tens of millions for delaying the release of Tha Carter V. Weezy says that he should be able to leave Cash Money. But that’s not all. Wayne has asked a judge to declare him the joint copyright holder of all of Young Money Entertainment recordings. Yesterday (Jan. 27) it was reported that Lil Wayne has plans to take Nicki Minaj and Drake with him when he leaves.

Lil Wayne's long-delayed album Tha Carter V was supposed to come out December 9. Now, Wayne has said the album isn't coming out as scheduled—but that it's not his fault. Today on Twitter, he blamed his record label, Cash Money, and co-founder Bryan Williams (aka Baby and Birdman). He also stated his desire to leave Cash Money, with whom he's been associated for his entire career.

It was previously reported that Tunechi was threatening to sue Cash Money, claiming Birdman owed him $8 million as an advance on his 11th studio album. Apparently, Wayne was supposed to receive the money when he began recording the album back in December 2013 and another $2 million after the album’s completion a year later. Well it’s 2015 and Weezy has had enough. It looks like the relationship between Baby and Weezy is completely broken. The drama was put on wax on Weezy’s Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape, which Birdman is not a fan of.
After tweeting his displeasure with CMR, Weezy seems to have taken it to the next level. He gave them an ultimatum, in writing: Either release Tha Carter V, or the rapper will sue Cash Money to get out of his contract. Baby has not publicly commented on the situations, but he reportedly is not budging and will not let Wayne out of his deal.
Legal documents regarding the lawsuit have surfaced. Here’s Wayne’s formal complaint below via the Fader.
